The temple is a unique open-air sanctuary and is open for devotees 24 hours a day, all year round. The daily poojas are performed three times a day:
- Morning Pooja: 7:15 AM

- From Kokkada to the Temple: Upon reaching the Kokkada bus stop, devotees can hire an auto-rickshaw to cover the final distance to the Southadka Ganapathi temple.
- From Dharmasthala: Southadka is approximately 20 km from Dharmasthala. You can hire a taxi or an auto-rickshaw to reach the temple.
- From Kukke Subrahmanya: The temple is about 35-45 km from Kukke Subrahmanya. Taxis are available for this route.
- From Bangalore: The temple can be accessed via the Bangalore-Dharmasthala road. About 13 km before reaching Dharmasthala, you will find an arch on the left side of the road that leads to the temple, which is about 7 km from there. There are private buses and KSRTC buses from Bangalore to Dharmasthala, from where you can take a local taxi or auto.
- From Mangalore: Southadka is located about 82 km from Mangalore. You can take a bus to Belthangady or Dharmasthala and then proceed from there. Taxis and private cab services are also available from Mangalore.
